At Hussey, environmental planning is integrated into all aspects of our business. We operate under an Environmental and Sustainability Policy that foundationally defines ‘the way we act’, regarding our commitment to zero waste and meeting the recognised standards of ISO 14001:2004. Every project begins with the development of an appropriate, site-specific Environmental Management Plan that’s maintained and monitored throughout operations. We take proactive steps to prevent pollution, reduce waste, and minimise our impact, through smarter practices, responsible procurement and better training. Our teams are equipped and empowered to make environmentally sound decisions on site. This includes proper waste handling, material reuse wherever possible, and respect for cultural and heritage values in consultation with local communities.

There are several key elements to our Environmental and Sustainability Policy which include but are not limited to: preventing pollution; protecting the environment and preventing adverse effects; reuse and recycle materials wherever practical; at a minimum, comply with all appropriate legislation regulations and relevant codes of practice at all times.
Further to this, we set specific environmental objectives and targets in relation to our business activities, and ensure they are monitored and maintained. We ensure staff are provided with adequate environmental education and training to continually improve awareness, performance and knowledge of environmental issues. Whilst also establishing appropriate responsibilities for personnel, according to their position and activities.
