HEALTH & SAFETY

WE VALUE

HEALTH & SAFETY

Safety is a part of our culture. We recognise that we have a moral and legal responsibility to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees, contractors, customers and visitors.

WE ARE COMMITTED TO ZERO HARM ON ALL PROJECTS, PROTECTING PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES.

At Hussey, the health, safety and wellbeing of our team, clients, contractors and communities is our highest priority. We have developed and implemented a robust Workplace Health & Safety Policy that recognises our moral and legal responsibility to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees, contractors, customers and visitors and meets the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Act 1986. We believe safety is not only about preventing harm, but enabling people to do their best work and return home safely. It’s embedded in how we plan, deliver and evaluate every task and with only two minor Lost Time Injuries across our last 500,000 man-hours, our safety record speaks to our commitment and culture.

Our Promise To You. Zero shortcuts. Zero compromise. A shared commitment to health and safety, underpinned by practical training, consultation and continuous improvement.

KEY PRINCIPLES IN OUR APPROACH

Hussey has created workplace environments that positively influence, support and encourage a positive health and safety performance. This is within our team members, as well as our suppliers and contractors. We recognise that safety is not just about protecting us from something — it is also about protecting us for something. By sharing the commitment to preventing all work-related injuries and illnesses, we create a safe and healthy environment in our workplace and at home. Our health and safety practices include, but are not limited to: site-specific WHS procedures and audits; continuous consultation with staff and subcontractors; training and resources to support safe work; full compliance with national WHS legislation; positive safety leadership across all teams and suppliers.
